I think we’re all chomping at the bit to see Disney’s new movie, Moana. It’ll be out Thanksgiving of this year!

In anticipation of the release, Disney has also released Moana Halloween costumes for kids. The costume in question is for the character Maui, a Polynesian god. The costume includes an “island-style skirt” made of fabric leaves, rope necklace and fabric brown skin with tattoos.

New for 2016- wear someone's skin!

New for 2016- wear someone else’s skin!

People are alternately pissed and not-pissed:

What do you think? Is this cultural appropriation (and just plain offensive) or is the costume just fine?
