Basically you’re either gonna fork out $6 to get across faster or continue to sit in traffic that could be worse than ever. As part of the TBX (Tampa Bay Express) plan put forth by the Florida Department of Transportation this toll is meant to lessen the traffic on your drive but many don’t believe that will be the case. Not to mention, if you want to use the toll lane and commute over the bridge 5 days a week THAT’S GOING TO BE $60 A WEEK??? Who has that kinda cheese?!?!?!?! I’m not sure about you but that Cross-Bay Ferry is starting to look pretty appealing.

BENSALEM, PA - NOVEMBER 28: A replacement toll collector collects fees at the Philadelphia Interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike during day 5 of the toll workers strike November 28, 2004 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. The toll workers have been without a contract since September 2003. The toll booths are currently being staffed by Turnpike Supervisors who are collecting a flat fee of $2 for cars and $15 for trucks. No new negotiations are scheduled. If you think this sounds just as crazy as I do, there is a way for you to weigh in, FDOT has two public hearings about the Howard Frankland Bridge and everything involved with the Tampa Bay Express.

They are:

5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6: Tampa Marriott Westshore, 1001 N. Westshore Boulevard
