A new study ranked all 50 states from the most fun to the least fun based on 22 factors, including the number of attractions, weather, parks, beaches, beer and wine prices, movie prices, concerts, theaters , and casinos.
And based on all of that, the most fun state is . . . Nevada. Which I’ll give them, I mean Vegas is an absolute blast.
What I take issue with is where Florida is ranked on this list. We come in 13th place. THIRTEENTH?!?! Look who beat us out in terms of “fun”:
2. South Dakota
4. North Dakota
5. New York
WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING IN SOUTH DAKOTA and WYOMING?! Is Mount Rushmore really that much of a party? Why don’t I see airline deals promising an unforgettable time in Cheyenne? THIS LIST IS BULLSH*T.
Especially when you read the article and see that Florida ranked 7th in terms of entertainment (should be higher, IMO) but 30th in terms of nightlife, which is what dragged us down. Sure, I know we have a lot of retirees going to bed at 9:30pm, but what about Miami? Even Will Smith extolled its virtues in his homage to the city. Never mind all the beaches where locals and tourists stay lit until the wee hours of the night.
If someone can make a legitimate case for states like Montana and North Dakota to be I the top ten of this list, I’d love to hear it. Nothing against those states, of course. I love all the states in our great country for what they represent, but when you hear “Montana” I don’t believe the first word you think is “fun.” I call for a recount!
