You can tell..you just can. Things are gonna get nasty! Lawyers for Taylor Swift and a former disc jockey she accuses of groping her four years ago will begin picking jurors today for their dueling lawsuits.
The alleged incident happened at a backstage photo session in Denver. Radio host David Mueller sued the pop star, saying he was falsely accused and that she should have called police instead of his bosses, who fired him soon after the June 2013 encounter. He’s seeking up to $3 million in damages.
Taylor countersued, claiming sexual assault, and setting up the civil trial where she is expected to testify amid tightened courthouse security. Opening statements could begin tomorrow, and the case could last two weeks. Court documents say it is unlikely that either side will settle.
Taylor’s lawsuit says that she is seeking a verdict that awards her just $1, while holding Mueller responsible and “serving as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”
Mueller is also expected to testify, along with Mueller’s former boss and members of Taylor’s entourage. Taylor’s mother and a member of her team also are defendants in the lawsuit filed by Mueller. Check out more info here.
I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I’m very proud of my Puerto Rican heritage. I speak fluent Spanish. I love the outdoors, playing with my kids, and spending time in the kitchen with my wife Jennifer.
Very few people in this world are blessed to do something they love for a living. I really love my job! I caught the radio bug when I was 9 years old. I sat there, watching my dad run a broadcast and speaking through a microphone to live callers. It amazed me so much..So much that it’s my life now, and I love it!
